|
HCS ADMISSIONAdmission to the Master of Health Science Program in Health Care Services is open on a selective basis to qualified applicants with a baccalaureate degree in a science or health-related field from an accredited institution. Applicants must submit a completed application form, a non-refundable application fee, official transcripts of all previous college work, Miller Analogies Test (MAT) results, three letters of recommendation, and an essay describing their interest in the program. Normally, applicants will be expected to demonstrate a B average in their undergraduate work. A personal interview with the Associate Director of the program may be required. Applicants should have completed training in one of the several professions involved in the health care environment. Others may be admitted whose training and goals are congruent with the purposes of the program and acceptable to the admissions committee. Qualified applicants will be admitted to the program on a provisional basis pending successful completion of two of the Health Care Services courses with a grade of B or better. Full admission to degree candidacy is contingent upon the written recommendation of the Faculty Committee for the program. HCS REGISTRATIONMost classes meet once a week for three hours during the early evening. Registration for courses may be completed online (www.ucollege.wustl.edu) or in person at Room 20, January Hall. Students not officially admitted into the program must obtain the approval of the Associate Director prior to enrollment. Students enrolled in the Health Care Services program pay the program tuition rate of $695/unit (2008-2009 academic year) for any courses in the University College Arts and Sciences curriculum which apply toward the degree. For courses taken in other divisions (e.g., Business and Social Work), students must pay the stated tuition of that division. Students may take up to 6 semester hours (two courses) of graduate work in the Health Administration program at the prevailing Health Care Services tuition rate. Students taking courses beyond the six-unit limit must pay the stated tuition rate for the Health Administration program. Tuition is payable in full at the time of registration and may be paid by check or bank card (Mastercard or VISA). Limited sources of financial assistance are available to part-time graduate students of University College. Questions concerning financial aid should be directed to Maggie Sullivan (314/935-6742 or maggiesullivan@wustl.edu).
